Fedor Emelianenko vs Brock Lesnar – An Interesting Futures Proposition
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009BetUs.com and Bodog currently have futures bets available for a possible Lesnar vs. Emelianenko superfight. BetUs lists Fedor at -220 and Lesnar at +175. Bodog lists Fedor at -225 and Lesnar at +185. So for the most part they are in agreement. I have to say I actually like these lines. I think too much more for Fedor would be giving him too much respect, and giving Lesnar a more favorable line wouldn’t be giving Fedor enough respect. If I had to place a bet on these lines right now I’d have to take Fedor. At -220 Fedor would need a 69% chance of winning. I would give him those odds right now. Lesnar has yet to completely prove himself. Sure, he dismantled Mir, but Mir gave him a lot of bulletin board material to get worked up about. The Last Emperor would never do that. On top of that I didn’t find Lesnar’s win over Couture to be overly impressive.
Although I say that I approve of this line, I wouldn’t be surprised if it moved drastically as the fight becomes closer to a reality.
Fun Fact: If you type The Last Emperor into Google Image Search you won’t find a picture of Fedor until the 7th page.
Do I really need a reason to post this?
