There aren’t a lot of fight gambling lines up for this weekend yet. In fact, this is the first one I’ve seen. Former Muai Thai world champion Malaipet takes on Thomas Denny on Friday night. The fight will be for the ShoEX “Elite Challenger Series” and will be televised on Showtime starting at 11 PM ET.

I like Thomas Denny for a couple of reasons. 14 of Denny’s 25 wins are by submission. That means he has a good chance to catch the Muai Thai star if he is able to take him to the ground. Another thing I like about Denny is his experience. He has been in there with some of the best MMA has to offer including Georges St. Pierre, Joe Stevenson, and Yves Edwards.

Malaipet will definitely have a huge advantage if he is able to keep the fight standing, but with a crafty veteran like Denny I don’t know if he’ll be able to pull it off.

My Pick: Thomas Denny ($50 to win $43.48)
